Dear Sir,
I am Thiyagarajan Murusegar, Ex Sgt, I have one suggestion, why don,t we re-modify our ex-servicemen identity card with latest technology removing the old style of paper card. It can be similar type of ECHS Card or Smart card. In identity card on card it may be printed with Service No, Rank, PPO NO.,Service- Army, Navy or Air Force,Emblem of Ashoka with Armed force symbol. It is to bring standard of uniformity.
Great! So will all officers will get their pending dues my March 2013? Is this confirmed information?

Dear All,
The OROP sop announced by the Govt in Sep 2012 should be renamed as Dhanpalan pension. Even if the govt had not announced it, it would have automatically happened given the outfall arising from the Rank pay case. Consider this:
In 1996 I was a Cdr and my Rank pay (deducted then) was Rs 1600. In May 2004 DA was merged to the extent of 50 % of Basic which makes it Rs 1600+800=2400.
I retired in May 2004, so the pension should increase by 1200, and as on date of Govt announcement, the DA was 65% which makes 1200 increase to Rs 1980. The pension tables of 2008 gives pension of a Capt (IN) as 26050. Add 1980=28030. The new tables issued by Govt/PCDA pension gives my revised pension as 27795.
The OROP had to happen but the Govt wanted to take credit. Congratulations to the PM for not seeing through the babu's games.
Capt SA Kanetkar (IN Retd)
