State Level Ex-SM rally at Memorial of Martyre Capt Garcha UE Ph II organized by All India Defence Forces Pensioners Wellfare Association (AIDFPWA) Jalandhar.

 The Ex-servicemen/widows of various organizations from all over Punjab and Haryana gathered in thousands &  rallied today at Jalandhar on 30 July 2011  at 10 am with black ribbons to protest against the injustice being meted out to them. The aim of this rally was not only to forge unity among ESM units of all Northern States of the Country but also to chalk out new strategy to force the government to accept  all our legitimate demands.

Firstly they paid very rich tribute to Kargil War Heros by keeping silence for 2 minutes and garlanding the Statue of Hero Capt Garcha with flowers & wreaths. Various speakers on the Dias expressed their grievances/demands of ESM/War widows supported by the huge audience by shouting slogans ,"If you go home tell them we have given our Today for their  Tomorrow", "Asin Han Bali de Bakre" Ex-SM ekta-Zindanad"   Bhains age Been bajana "Murdabad etc & so on and clapping of hands for hours together very peacefully in a disciplined manner. 

The condensed version of their expressions & demands are as under:-

1) Since 1982 the issue of {OROP} One Rank One Pension being raised ( Honourable Indra Ji then PM & Rajeev Ji) ,Honourable PM VP Singh, DM G Fernands, Honourable PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji announced at Red Fort Delhi on 15th Aug 2009, Political Parties have added the Issue of OROP in the Election Manifestos , all agreed but to no results , OROP not accepted & kept hanging till today; due to the negative attitude of bureaucrats / budget constraint as told by respected DM AK Antony in & out side the Parliament.

2) Status of Defence forces have  been lowered after Indipendence gradually vis a vis the pension has been reduced compatibly with the civilian counterparts with a vast difference of duty & place of duty through the all 6 Pay Commissions. Ex-SM are considered scape goats.

3) Pension to be raised to 85% of basic pay.

4) AFT orders like. Increased pension of Majors & eq , Hony Capt and Hony LT be implemented forthwith. MOD is keeping 90%  orders pending why?

5) Widow pension to be same of her husband. All War Widows to be honored equally with financial benefits.

6) Various anomalies/ parities on pension/ family pension (from Sepoy to General) in the 4thCPC,5thCPC & 6thCPC to be removed promptly.

7) Separate Pay Commission for Defence Forces immediately with all members from serving/retired Defence Forces.

8) Bold Defence Forces/ Ex-SM (War Veterans) have won all the Battles forced on the Country since Indipendance with sacrifices to the pride of the Nation at Battle Fields while Bureacrats sitting in luxury chairs .So why E-SM are ignored after retirement ?

9) The expenditure on OROP is too meager (even less than a straw), ( a drop of water in the ocean) in comparison to the News of mis-appropriation of Funds like CWG, 2 G Spectrum, Adarsh Society Bombay, Swiss Banks to Singa Pore Banks, Bofors Gun Deal, Chara ghotala , much more still hidden , not in the news.

All our demands are genuine and legitimate which need immediate acceptance and implementation. We give government time upto 15^th  August 2011 failing which we will be constrained to intensify our agitation with effect from 16th August2011 co-insiding with civil society agitation against black money and corruption
