This is a copy of a petition given by a defence pensioner to the Chief Manager, SBI CPPC, Chennai -1 on 03 Jan 2009. It is more than 3 months passed. Still the Bank had not paid the amount claimed. Still the pensioner is running from pillar to post. This is one example, as to how the banks are dealing the defence pensioners.

RS.14,892/- DIFFERENCE OF PENSION IS TO BE PAID.
I am drawing defence pension from SBI Kattumannarkovil Branch. It has been observed from my pass book entries that I have been paid LESS pension for the period from 01.09.2008 to 31.12.2008. To substantiate my clai, I am submitting herewith the following details along with the Xerox copies of the PPO and the SB Pass Book for your perusal and rectification at an early date.

For your convenience, I have worked out the amount of pension to be paid (Payable) from 01/09/08 to 31/12/08 and compared the amount you have actually paid through pass book entries and arrived at a difference of Rs.14,892/- to be paid to me. The details of working and relevant explanations are given in Annexure ‘A’ to this letter..Please verify and arrange to pay the difference without any delay. Your early and prompt action in the matter will be highly appreciated.

Note: The amount commuted i.e. Rs.2,747/- is to be reduced from the pension from the date of payment of the commuted value of pension i.e. Rs.4,55,563/- paid on 08/11/08. Therefore full pension with dearness relief is to be paid from 01/09/08 to 31/12/08 and thereafter reduced pension from 08/11/08 to 31/12/08. Since the above rules have not been followed in this case, Rs.14,892 have become short payment. These instructions are at the back side of the PPO. Please verify.
