WHY SPL. FAMILY PENSION IS DIVIDED ?

WHY A SPECIAL FAMILY PENSION IS
SOMETIMES DIVIDED AND PAID ?

The purpose of granting Special Family Pension is to protect the entire family of the soldier from starvation, due to the unnatural death of the soldier.  It is not the intention, that the mother will suffer and the young wife will enjoy all the benefits of the deceased soldier (including authorized re-marriage) or the widow and the children will suffer allowing the mother to enjoy.

If all the member of the deceased soldier live together, (i.e. mother, father, wife & children) there is no question of dividing the pension.  It is only when the mother thinks of deserting her daughter-in-law or if the wife thinks of cheating the mother-in-in-law, then the very purpose of granting the special family pension to one individual will not be justified.  Therefore, it is in the interest of social and natural justice the Special Family Pension is divided and paid.

Rules and regulations are framed after long experience to provide social security and justice to the entire family.

Therefore all concerned are to note that a United family is the Good family.  A divided family is not to be encouraged.  The question of a childless widow re-marriage is a different issue.  But a widow with children should think twice before going for re-marriage.

Individuals, specially to-days youngsters are misguided by unscrupulous elements.  The family members of the deceased soldier should be very careful in safeguarding the dignity of the family.  This is very important.  In this regard, our social life and culture is more valuable than western culture.  Let us live together to safeguard our nation.
