NEW ECHS SMART CARD APPLICATION

ATTACHMENT OF PPO COPY IN RESPECT OF PRE1986 PENSIONERS/

FAMILY PENSIONERS.

All the defence pensioners, who retired before 01.04.1985 were given only Pension Book, where only the PPO Number if written.  They were not given any separate PPO by the CDA (P).  It is presumed that the Original of the relevant PPO is with the pension paying CPPC of the Bank.

Therefore, attaching the PPO copy for the Pre 1986 pensioners for the New ECHS smart card application is not relevant.  They can only scan the Page of the Pension book which contains the PPO Number.  In some of the old pension books, the PPO number is not at all clear.  If something is not uploaded in the PPO square, the application cannot be submitted.

We therefore request the CO ECHS to review the problem and amend the Input screen to enable the Pre 1986 pensioners to upload the application only with the PPO number instead of the Copy of the PPO.

All ECHS members above 80 years of age may exempted from applying for the new ECHS cards.
