PAN CARD IS A MUST FOR PENSION AND ECHS

PAN AND AADHAAR ARE MUST FOR PENSIONERS.

ALL DEFENCE PENSIONERS MUST DO THE FOLLOWING FOR SMOOTH PAYMENT OF FAMILY PENSION TO THEIR SPOUSES

There have been many changes in the Pension Rules and Banking rules.  Nowadays you cannot open a bank account without Correct Aadhaar Card.  Correct Aadhaar Card means with Correct Name, Address and Full Date of birth.  Same way a Pensioner cannot open a Joint account with his Spouse without Correct name in the PPO which should as per Aadhaar Card.

Unless the pensioner check up these details now, and correct, it will be difficult for his spouse to do this at a later date.  We therefore list few things to be done by the pensioner for smooth change over of family pension.

1.      Make sure that the endorsement of Family Pension is done for family pension and the PPO is handed over to your spouse with clear instructions.

2.      The Name of your Spouse in the PPO, in Aadhaar Card and PAN Card ECHS Card and School Certificate should be same.  There should not be any spelling mistake.

3.      The Date of Birth should be same in all the above documents.

4.      Please convert your Pension Account into Joint Account with your spouse name as per PPO.  The Joint account should be “Either or Survivor” basis or “Former or Survivor” basis.

5.      After converting into joint account get reprinted the First page of your Pass book and affix your joint photo with bank managers signature.

6.      If your spouse Aadhaar card is having only Year of Birth, you have to update with Full Date of Birth by visiting to Aadhaar Enrolment centre.

7.      Nowadays, a Correct Aadhaar Card with full date of birth is a must for opening a Bank account.

8.      Also you have to link your Aadhaar Card and PAN Card with your Bank account.

Please act accordingly.  Many of our pensioners are keeping Aadhaar Cards without full date of birth.  Please also check up your wife’s Aadhaar card for date birth.  Update it immediately by visiting to Aadhaar enrolment centre. You can update your Date of Birth by producing Birth Certificate, School Certificate, PAN Card, PPO etc.etc.
