IMPLEMENTATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR DEFENCE PENSIONERS

SALIENT FEATURES
POSITIVE POINTS
1.Minimum Pension/Family pension increased to Rs.9000 p.m.
w.e.f. 1.1.2016.
2.Maximum Pension increased to Rs.1,25,000 p.m. w.e.f.
1.1.2016.
3.Maximum Family Pension increased to Rs.75000 p.m. w.e.f.
1.1.2016.
(The above rates are excluding the element of Additional
Pension to old pensioners)
4.Employed/Re-employed pensioners will be paid the Basic
pension as on 31.12.1015 multiplied by 2.57 rounded up to next higher rupee.
Eg. A Group X Sgt with 18 years service Basic Pension as on
31.12.2015 is Rs.8925. His revised pension w.e.f. 1.1.2016 will be Rs.8925 X
2.57 = 22,938.
5.No Change in the Disability pension. The Disability pension as on 31.12.2015 will continue to be paid till the anamoly committee recommends some changes from the Slab system recommended by 7 CPC.
6. Cadets in case of disablement will get payment of monthly
ex-gratia award of |Rs.9000 p.m.
7. Exgratia disability award of Rs.16200 for 100% disability
for cadets.
8. The revised pension and arrears due to the pensioners is
to be paid in one instalment within two months from the date of issue of this
letter i.e.29.10.2016 i.e. before 29.12.2016.
9. A hard copy of Annexure ‘B’ will be provided to each
pensioner by the PDA. (Annexure ‘B’ is the details of pension paid and revised
pension paid to the pensioner as on date)
10. If a pensioner has already died before receiving the
payment of arrears, the LTA will be paid to the Family Pensioners.
NEGATIVE POINTS
1.W.E.F 1.1.2016 the Additional Pension will not be
admissible on disability element/Lib. Disability element, War Injury element of
disability, Liberalised disability and War injury pension.
2.No change/benefit for Reservists in receipt of exgratia
payment at Rs.750 pm
3. No change/benefit for Families of Reservists in receipt
of ex-gratia family pension at
Rs.645 pm.
Will the disability pension also get revised to new Pascale's applicable ( 30% of the revised pay (for 100% disability) along with DA applicable
