Will the Finance Minister Look into the matter.
EXGRATIA PAYMENT TO RESERVISTS AND WIDOWS
OF DECEASED RESERVISTS AND THEIR CHILDREN
The families of Reservists and their children were given exgratia payment @ Rs.150 p.m. from 1.1.92 to 31.10.97. Later it was revised to Rs.605. (5th CPC recommendations) Same way, the ex-servicemen who were discharged as reservists before 1.1.1968 without any pension benefits were also granted exgratia payment @ Rs.600 pm. From 1.11.97 with DA.
There are very few extratia pensioners living now. Many of them have not claimed this benefit and died. Those who are living now will be all above 80 years of age.
The 6th CPC had not made any mention about the revision of pension to these poor pensioners. The department of ex-servicemen welfare also not bothered about this. Unfortunately none of the recognized ex-servicemen organizations making any representation to the government. Moreover, the PDAs don’t bother about paying correct rate of Dearness Relief to these pensioners. All the D.A. circulars issued by the government contain the rate of D.R. payable to these pensioners also. Yet none of the banks pay correct rate of DA to these pensioners.
The present rate of pension to these pensioners after merger of 50% DA w.e.f. 1.4.2004 is as follows:-
Rs.900/- for those drawing Rs.600
Rs.908/- for those drawing Rs.605
The rates of DA payable from 1.1.2006 are as follows:-
DA rates for Basic Pension Rs.900/- For Basic Pen. Rs.908
From 1.1.2006 to 30.6.2006 -- 24% --16%
From 1.7.2006 to 31.12.2006 -- 29% --21%
From 1.1.2007 to 30.6.2007 -- 35% --27%
From 1.7.2007 to 31.12.2007 -- 41% --33%
From 1.1.2008 to 30.6.2008 -- 47% --39%
From 1.7.2008 to 31.12.2008 -- 53% --45%
From 1.1.2009 to 30.6.2009 -- 64% --56%
From 1.7.2009 to 31.12.2009 -- 73% --65%
From 1.1.2010 to 30.6.2010 -- 87% --79%
Note: We request Maj.Gen.Radhakrishnan, Vice President IESL to take up the issue with the Government on priority.

wonderful information. Many banks are not aware of the rate of DA for ex-gratia pensioners. Now they should pay the correct Rate there b the poor EX-Gratia pensioners will be benefited.
