DEFENCE FAMILY PENSIONERS - LACK OF AWARENESS

NON PAYMENT OF CORRECT PENSION TO DEFENCE FAMILY PENSIONERS.

The Pre-86 family pensioners have become a neglected lot by all the members of the society including their family members. The banks are paying whatever they feel like as pension to these widows. There is no body to help them to get their correct pension.

There are many widows of Honorary Captains, Honorary Flt.Lts. drawing Sepoy’s ordinary family pension for years together. It is very difficult to claim arrears of short payment for 20 years now. Lack of awareness among the widows about their husband’s Rank and other service particulars is the main reason for such a state of affairs. Surprisingly, these widows are very much aware of the liquor quota available to their husbands rank and they never miss to purchase every month from the canteen. This is a very sorry state of affairs.

For the benefit of the widows, we are giving the rates of family pension as per 6th CPC. They may please verify with what they get from the banks.
