FIXED MEDICAL ALLOWANCE ENHANCED TO PENSIONERS


CENTRAL GOVT. PENSIONERS FIXED MEDICAL ALLOWANCE  ENHANCED TO Rs.300 w.e.f. 01.9.2008.

Central Govt. Pensioners those were not covered under CGHS and were in receipt of Fixed Medical Allowance as per the recommendation of fifth Pay Commission, Rs 100 P. M. will now be getting Rs 300 P.M with effect from 01/09/2008.
The demand for enhancement of Medical Allowance was pending for a long time with the Govt.
Ministry of Defence will issue separate orders.  However, this will be applicable for those defence pensioners who are not covered under ECHS.

  1. What is Rs 300 today? Just to visit a med specialist once, cost Rs 300. Medicine and subsequent visit will cost hundreds. With today,s cost of living,pensioners not covered by ECSH should be paid minimum Rs 1000 per month as med allowance.

  3. no orders till november after 6 months.dept of esm is more interested in adarsh,why not iesm bog spot tke it up ?

    If ECHS facility is not avaied due the distance between place of residence and service provider even one obtaied the membership and services not at all availed. CGHS members are receiving FMA if above condition prevail.
