COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO A SPL. FAMILY PENSIONER.
Spl. Family Pension has not been revised to all the Ranks so far. Orders are awaited. However CDA(P) Circular No.410 indicated the minimum Spl. Family Pension payable as Rs.7000/- w.e.f. 01.01.2006. This Circular No.410 was issued only on 13.05.2009. The PDAs and the pensioners are not aware of this circular, as a result many special family pensioners, still not received the revised Special Family pension and arrears.
The Minimum Special Family pension payable as per 5th CPC and CDA Circular 282 was Rs.2550. This was revised to Rs.5763 as per MOD letter dt.11.11.08 and CDA Circular 397 dt.18.11.08 (Annexure I) (6th CPC Recommendations). But this subsequent circular No.410 which indicated to revise the minimum Special Family Pension from Rs.5763 to Rs.7000 has been ignored by many PDAs.
Therefore this class of pensioners are continuing with a monthly loss of Rs.1237 with Dearness Relief till today. The arrears worked out from 01.01.2006 to 31.01.2011 for 61 months will come around Rs.87,691. (Click here for the Calculation Sheet for Arrears and Compensation).
Following large scale complaints from the pensioners, the RBI had issued instructions to pay compensation for such delayed payments w.e.f. 01.10.2008. (Click here for the RBI Circular)
In the circumstances, the banks are bound to pay around Rs.12,155 as compensation to a Special Family pensioner, if the revised pension is not paid till today.
All welfare Associations are requested to help the Special family pensioners to get the arrears along with the compensation.
Timely information. Worderful article . All ESM Associations should take up the cases of Special family pensioners and try to help them in getting their Compensation arrears.
