SOME USEFUL INFORMATION TO DEFENCE PENSIONERS

1. Fixed Medical Allowance @ Rs.100 was introduced w.e.f. 01.12.1997.
2. Fixed Medical Allowance @ Rs.300 was increased  w.e.f. 01.09.2008
3. EPF Pension in addition to Defence Family pension allowed w.e.f. 27.07.2001
4. D.R. for re-employed ex-servicemen with some conditions w.e.f. 18.07.1997.
5. Minimum Family Pension as per 6th CPC  is Rs.3,500 w.e.f. 01.01.2006.
6. Minimum Special Family Pension as per 6th CPC is Rs.7000 w.e.f. 01.01.2006.
7. Compensation for Delayed payment of Pension/Arrears to be paid w.e.f. 01.10.2008.
8. Improvement in pension for ORs & JCOs as per CDA Circular 430 w.e.f. 01.07.2009.
9. ECHS made compulsory for those discharged after 01.04.2003.
10. ADLR scheme was introduced w.e.f. 31.05.2002.
11. ESM can draw two pensions separately without any ceiling w.e.f. 01.01.1996.
12. Additional pension is payable on both the pensions, if any one drawing two pensions.
13. Additional pension is applicable for WIP/Disability Pension/Lib.FP & SFP.
14. D.R. is admissible to employed family pensioners without any condition w.e.f. 18.07.1997.
15. W.E.F. 01.07.2009 the concept of Broad banding of percentage of disability/War injury
      Shall be extended to Armed Forces Officers and others who were invalided out of service           
      prior to 01.01.1996 and are in receipt of disability/war injury pension as on 01.07.2009.
16. Joint notification of family pension was introduced from 01.03.1985.
17. The Cap on maximum WIP i.e. not to exceed emoluments last drawn has been removed
      W,e,f, 01.07.2009.
18. Liberalised family pension came into existence from 01.02.1972.
19. War disabled pensioners & widows are exempted from paying ECHS contribution.
20. ECHS facility is now extended to the dependents of ex-recruits boarded out are drawing
      Disability pension.

    Here's an humble plea to him/them who is/are aware of poor condition of ex-servicemen, who are recruited as Gp-D employee in Indian Railway. It's my request please look after the matter, rather take care of, no any should be treated as a labourer in Indian Railway,specially in Eastern Railway. Who they have called for Gp-D job in Eastern Rly we simply cofused.
    Pl look into the matter.
